Sustainability in Motion Hackathon (3 Days)

Challenge: Design a sustainable transport system for Aruba (e.g., electric trams, hydrogen buses) using robotics.

Schedule:

  1. Day 1: Learn & Plan (Workshops, Team Building)
  2. Day 2: Build & Program Robots
  3. Day 3: Compete & Win (Arena Challenges, Judging)

  • Winners go to the 2024 FIRST Global Challenge
  • Immersive STEM workshops & activities

The winners of this challenge will have a chance to represent Aruba at the 2024 FIRST Global Challenge

Participant Criteria

Team Applications Preferred:

  • Teams of 3-5 high school students (ages 14-18)
  • Team members can be from different schools
  • Individual Applications Welcome:
  • Must be at least 14 years old and enrolled in high school
  • No specific education level requirement (MAVO/HAVO/VWO/Other)

Key Qualities:

  1. Motivation and willingness to learn
  2. Prior robotics experience not required

CHALLENGE

Robotics Challenge: Participants will design, build, and program robots.

FIRST Global Challenge: This year's theme is "Hydrogen Horizons," focusing on renewable energy, particularly hydrogen.

Competition involves: Producing, storing, transporting, and converting hydrogen energy.
